See what’s new in our lives!

We’re moving to Colorado!

I haven’t posted here in a LONG time.  I have some updates now though.  Hubby and I are moving from Arizona to Colorado!  I am so excited to be moving closer to our son.  We have spent the past week planning our move and packing.  We found a cute little house to rent that has a nice fenced in yard for the dogs. They’ve never been in the cold before and haven’t seen snow so they are in for a bit of a surprise.  It’s still in the triple digits here.  In 10 days from now it will be 30-40 degrees colder.  Wait.  I might be in  for a bit of a surprise! Hubby has a second interview coming up for a teaching job and I was just contacted by a recruiter so the job hunt is going fairly well so far. The little house we found has some nice trees on the property, grassy yard in front and back, wood floors and has an open concept.  It is a 1940’s brick house with a …

Our anniversary

Yesterday Tim and I celebrated our 23rd anniversary of love.  I agreed to pick up one patient in the morning but she was such a sweet old lady and her daughter was so appreciative that it was worth doing on a Saturday and our anniversary.  And it turned out that she recommended the place where we went to eat lunch which was fabulous.  We went to Cave Creek (AZ) and browsed around their shops.  It was super hot out but still a lot of fun.  We drove around looking at the different neighborhoods out there.  It is an absolutely gorgeous drive and the views are to die for.  Mountains everywhere.  I felt I was on vacation even though we were only a half an hour from home.   We saw some huge deer and I saw a big fat lizard.  Not the kind of lizards we have around our place.  The buck was so majestic just sitting under a shade tree in someone’s front yard while the doe wandered around slowly.   We bought a really sweet …

love you

Hello!  The graphic today is for my son.  I talked to T2 on the phone today.  He is all settled in at his new place in Colorado.  His roommate is there now and settling in also.  Today was his first official day of med school.   He said it went well.  This week is orientation but really they are learning stuff too- going over anatomy and learning skills to help them study, etc.  He was a little taken aback by the amount of money he will have to spend on books and supplies (literally thousands) but it will all be worth it.   It was just so great to hear from him.  He’s going to be really busy from now until ??? so I am appreciating every minute he can spare to call his mom.  :)  Here’s a a few pics of his new place:   looking towards the living room Looking towards the kitchen This is how he set up his kitchen.  He chose red and black for his kitchen colors- towels, plates, etc. Nice little …

Alyssa’s graduation day

Alyssa with her boyfriend Steven Yesterday we went to my niece, Alyssa’s, graduation.  It was so nice.  Didn’t think I would but I got a little tear in my eye thinking that this is the same girl whose diaper I changed!  And thinking about all the birthdays and occasions and Alyssa growing up to be the woman she is today.  I am so very proud of her and love her so much!  Here are a few pics from yesterday:  Graduation girl! Here she is on the jumbotron-right after she got her diploma.  Aubrey, Timmy, Alyssa and me- those three are cousins but as close as brother and sisters. I’m so glad Timmy was able to make it for this special day for Alyssa (he is moving out of state soon) Alyssa and her boyfriend Steven. I think she looks amazing in this color blue.  Angie’s family: Rocco, Aubrey, Joey, Alyssa, Angie. It was great that Joey was able to fly out for this day too.  A better picture of Rocco- he was waiting for his sister’s …

For my man

Happy Birthday to Tim, my best friend, lover and soul mate.  Honey, I love you because… You are fun to hang out with even when we’re doing nothing. You have ALWAYS been there with a kiss and hug even if you don’t know what to say. I have never doubted your love for me- not once, not even for a second. We are getting gray hair and wrinkles together.  We are sounding boards for each other. You don’t judge me. We are equal partners in this relationship. You do not entertain foolishness or compromise your integrity. You are loyal, honest and treat me with respect.  You make me feel beautiful when I am with you. You are a good provider. You are not a “yes” man.  You make me smile when I don’t think I can. You are “home” to me.   You are weird!  (Don’t worry that is the highest compliment) You have somehow managed to never raise your voice at me even when I have been flying off the handle, acting stupid, out of control …

List maker?

(Looking for backsplash ideas I came across this cool modern kitchen- I like this sink too!)    Are you a list maker?  I am.  Most days it is just a mental list of things I need to do that day but oftentimes I write it all down.  Especially the house ideas.  Here are some things on my to do lists.  Today: 1. Call doctor’s office and pick up prescriptions. 2. Make a grocery list and grocery shop (I am a very unsuccessful grocery shopper without one and will come home with a bunch of “half meals” and snacks so I have  taken the time to make one on Word with all the frequently purchased items.  All I have to do is print it out and check things off). 3. Apply for 3 jobs. (I already know which ones- the search was done) 4. Start cleaning the garage. 5. Make Tim’s BD card. 6. Be sure to stretch. (My lower back and hamstrings are getting super tight) 7. Cover the outdoor lounge cot with fabric. 8. Call Mom.   (Sweet little …
